Our Pastors & Milestone
October is recognized as Pastor Appreciation Month, and many congregations use the month of October to show honor and appreciation for their pastors . Ministry is hard work and involves a lot of hours, but when pastors feel appreciated and loved by their congregations, it makes the long hours and hard work easier. This year TAB Church celebrates their Pastors Sunday Oct 1, 2023. Keynote Speaker: Dr. Nino Gonzalez from Orlando, Florida.
Church Milestone: On Oct. 10, 2021 Tab Church celebrated it's 80th Anniversary and the City of Houston honored TAB Church Houston (El Tabernaculo Assembly of God), and proclaimed Sunday, October 10, 2021 as TAB Church Day within the City and urge all the citizens of Houston to acknowledge the occasion on this day.
Lead Pastors
Pastor J. & Dr. Melissa Alfaro are the lead Pastors of Tab Church Houston (El Tabernaculo AD Houston). They have been married for 20 years. Their greatest assignment has been raising and discipling their children—J. David III and Jalissa Jael.
Together they Pastor Tab Church Houston (The Tabernacle) located in the inner city of Houston, Texas. For the past 20 years they have served as educators, Pastors, Evangelists, Church Planters and Mentors. Pastor J is an Astros fan and loves seafood. Dr. Melissa loves literature and taking scenic drives.
Youth Pastors
Pastor Paulina & Rene Solis are the Youth Pastors of Tab Church Youth Ministries. Pastors Solis have served the church for the last 5 years in youth ministries and help in several other capacities. Pastor Paulina & Rene have two beautiful children, Melissa & Judah. Pastor Paulina & Rene have a huge heart to see young people live out their God-given calling. Aside from 15 years of experience in youth ministry, she also serves as the Assistant District Youth Director for the Texas Louisiana Hispanic District, and has been a part of the Network of Women Ministers Under 40 Field Team. Paulina & Rene love Mexican food.
Next Gen Pastor
Pastor Emmy & Kevin Nolasco oversee our Next Gen Ministries, which include all church Kid Ministries, BGMC, VBS & Tab Tots. Emmy & Kevin also serve on the Under 40 ministry teams. Emmy loves pizza & Kevin is a Baltimore Ravens fan.
Keynote Speaker
Dr. Saturnino (Nino) González was born in New York from Puerto Rican parents. He graduated from Central Bible College with a Bachelor’s degree and completed his Master’s degree with the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary. He also has a D. Min from McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, Illinois. He was the Pastor at Calvario City Church in Orlando, Florida for over 20 years. He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God and served as the Florida Multicultural District of the Assemblies of God Superintendent. He previously served as the Puerto Rico District of the Assemblies of God Superintendent for nine years.Dr. González is married to Abigail and they have three children.
